New England Country Dancers
We teach partner pattern (circle) dancing, which is done at most country venues, dances like El Paso, Blue Rose Is and Rebel Strut. Dance classes are held most Sunday evenings. Check the Calendar for scheduled classes. No registration is required for Sunday classes and drop ins are always welcome.
Sunday Evening Partner Dance Program - 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
This ongoing program is for individuals and partners who have completed the Introduction Series or have similar partner dancing experience. The program includes an hour of "improver" open dance practice from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, and a new beginner-level dance lesson at around 6:15 PM. The second half of the program is targeted to seasoned dancers and includes a new intermediate-level dance lesson at about 7:15 PM. Open dance by request runs until 8:00 PM. Admission is $8 per person or $15 per couple. Check the Calendar for scheduled classes.
Intro to Partner Dance Classes are held several times a year.

If you have never done partner pattern dancing before, we recommend that you take our introductory course, which is instruction geared toward newcomers. The introductory class provides a lot of individual attention and focuses on the basics to get you out on the dance floor at country events and venues. All Introductory classes are offered as a series of 75-minute group lessons, once a week, for five consecutive weeks. The Introductory Program requires pre-registration, and class fees are due in full up-front.
Do I need a partner? How much experience is required for Sunday classes?
Although it is not necessary to have a dance partner to take the classes, a dance partner is recommended to get the most out of your partner dancing experience. Improver Dance Classes are geared to dancers who are not new to pattern dancing but who have been dancing for less than a year. Intermediate Dance Classes are aimed at partner dancers who already have considerable dance experience. Please drop in to try a class. Both classes assume you have a basic knowledge of step combinations like step-pivot, shuffle, rock-step and coaster. There is no need to pre-register for Improver or for Intermediate classes, and walk-ins are always welcome. On Sundays you pay once and stay until closing!
Private Lessons (30- or 60-minute sessions) are also available by appointment.
